My Beauty Interview with Sharon Case - Part II

I know a lot of you have been waiting for me to put up the second half of my interview with the gorgeous, talented, sweet, and gracious Sharon Case.  Ok, Ok, here it is! Once again, these are Sharon's exact answers which have not been altered in any way.  Now on with Part II -

I know that you mentioned that you get an occasional spray tan. Do you ever self tan yourself?  if so what products do you use?

A nice tan can make you look slimmer and in better shape overall. Whats fun is, you can dress in a wider variety of colors and styles when you're tan so you can change up your wardrobe that week. It also makes your skin silky soft. Its not only healthier than getting a real tan but it actually looks better too because it acts like a body makeup, it evens out your skin tone and covers up imperfections.
I do not apply the spray tan myself. I go to a salon where they do custom sprays or i use the spray tan booths which can be messy and a lot more work but costs much less.

Do you have a favorite nail polish? If so what color and brand?

Yes, I love nail color but I don't often get to wear it because I cannot always wear it onscreen. In the winter I love to wear metallic dark blue. It looks almost black. OPI makes a great one and I'm sure it has a funny name, as most of their colors do. In the summer I like a french mani/pedi or ill wear red when I can get away with it at work.

What is your favorite perfume?

I rarely ever wear perfume but I like the old fashion scents like White Shoulders. I prefer to wear scented lotions instead. I like shopping for new scents all the time but my favorites are "Sweet Pea" lotion at Bath & Body Works or LadyPrimrose.com scented lotions & perfume.

When you are running out of the house quick, what makeup products do you reach for?

For a quick makeup ill put on a tinted moisturizer rather than foundation. Its easier to put on, takes less time, it has fairly good coverage and it doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup. I add mascara and lips and I can be out of the house pretty quick!

What brand of handbag do you carry?

I don't have a lot of handbags. Though I love bags, I really only need three or four. Ive had a large black Dior bag for years. I use it for work and for travel, this is my workhorse bag so I spent a lot of money on it. It fits my laptop, my scripts and all of the other silly things women carry around in their bags. At night I carry a clutch in either black patten leather or nude patten leather. The two I have now I bought at Aldo Shoes. In the summertime I use a large basket weave bag instead of my Dior. I usually find a new one every year in some small boutique around my house or while I'm traveling.

Well there you have it.  These are the questions that I had the pleasure of asking Sharon.  I would once again like to thank Sharon for doing this interview with me.  I have gotten to know Sharon through Twitter, as a lot of her fans have, and I will say that she is as gorgeous inside as she is out.  Sharon is a class act and I am honored to say that I get to chat with her from time to time.  I know I have said this before as well but I have met so many wonderful people through Sharon.  I look forward to chatting with all of them!

What's in my makeup & lipstick bags?

As I was sitting at work today and reached inside my lipstick bag I realized that some of my favorite YouTube videos are actually - What's in my makeup bag!  Lately due to the large amount of blogs that I follow, I have been seeing more and more of these in blog form.  I thought I would post for you below exactly what is in my makeup and lipstick bag on a daily basis.  I will tell you that the makeup bag items do not change from day to day.  The lipstick bag on the other hand may change a little when I rediscover an old favorite or add a new one to my collection.  Yes, that is correct I do have a separate bag for my cosmetics, and one for my lipsticks.  Call me crazy .. I already know!

I will start off with a photo and then list all of the products.  I will not go into detail about any of the products, however, if you have any questions about any of them, please comment below or ask me on Twitter!

Here is the makeup bag, the bag itself is a Louis Vuitton Toilette 19, I think, I have had this for years and years.  This cute little bag is home to my lip glosses, sticks, and liners!
I will start with the products left to right -
Pretty Girl Lipgloss & Lipstick  "Oh Honey" "Day At The Spa" & "Soul Mates" - Sharon Case's favorite!

Chanel Liners "Peche" & "Nude"
MAC liner "Stripdown"
MAC Lip Brush
MAC Kissable Lip Color "Wue Me"
Inglot Sleeks Platinum "#81"
Chanel Mirror for touchups!

Ok I know that is a lot of lippies coming out of one bag!  Believe me this is not even a fraction of the lip colors I have.  I have different moods and like to change my color based on my mood!  Well, that's my story and I am stickin to it!

On to my cosmetic bag.  This is what I carry with me on a daily basis.  I usually only use my Chanel Powder but  you never know when you will be stuck somewhere crying with no mascara or eyeliner to touch up!

This is my Kenneth Cole makeup bag.  It is actually not my favorite.  I bought it because it was red and matched the inside of my Louis.  I am on the hunt for a new one to replace this -
Here are the products, once again Left to Right -
Nars Bronzer "Casino"
Chanel Shadows "Beige Lame" & "Twilight"
MAC Studio Finish Concealer "NC35"
Chanel Blush Horizon de Chanel with Brush in small Chanel Pouch

Well there you have it.  These are the pretties that I carry with me in my purse every, single, day!  They are in there even if I am running to the store!  I think all of these products are like my security blanket.  I know the minute I take something out and leave it home, I will definitely need it that day!

In the case of carrying WAY too much makeup with me on a daily basis & showing it to all of you - This case is SOLVED!

Deborah Lippmann Made My Mermaid Dreams Come True

If you follow me on any of the social media outlets such as; Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram, you may have come across some of my new nail polish photos!  Last year I was totally into the, only one glitter nail, now I have totally changed my taste.  I went from one little piggy with glitter, to all of the little piggy's with glitter!  I have a combo of high end and lower end polishes and find them all to be absolutely gorgeous.

I will start with one that I received last night from that wonderful UPS man who I love so much.  Come on now who wouldn't love a man that comes to your door at least twice a week and hands you presents?  The polish I received was one that I was actually on wait list for.  It is by the famous Deborah Lippmann, and it is called Mermaid's Dream.  This polish is just that, from the moment I took it out of the package, my day got a little bit brighter.  I could actually picture myself walking on the beach with the sand in my Mermaid Dream painted toes.  I immediately put this on, over another polish, and immediately removed it!  I really wanted to give everyone an accurate description of how it would look by itself.  I also wanted to be able to tell you how many coats it took to get the perfect color.  The answer to those questions, it looked gorgeous by itself, totally covered the whole nail.  As for the coats it took to cover, the answer to that is only2!  Here is the beauty in the bottle and on some of my little piggy's -

See how absolutely gorg that is?  I am totally in LOVE!  This is everything I thought it would be and more! TOTALLY worth the wait and the price.

Now on to another polish that I recently acquired in my collection.  This one is from my beloved Chanel!  You know I can't let a Chanel collection pass me by without purchasing something.  I am totally set in the lip gloss department right now, thanks to my Pretty Girl purchases, so a new polish was the way to go.  This color is limited edition, as many Chanel colors are.  It is called Attraction and is absolutely gorg!  Here it is -
See how gorgeous that one is?  Sometimes I wish I had more hands!!! I just wanted to post another photo of some less expensive alternatives to a gorgeous, fun, sparkly nail.  These are all by Revlon and found at Rite Aid.  The colors are from left to right - Blue Mosaic, Sparkling, & Whimsical.

These colors are gorg but are definitely more sheer than the Deborah Lippmann colors.  As you can see, I am all about purchasing polish these days!  It is funny because now that I no longer go to the salon to get my nails done, it costs me even more money.  I now can change my polish daily if I want.  This means more polish to purchase for me!  When I used to have them done professionally, I would keep the same polish on for weeks!  Now I love to change it up and experiment with new fun colors.

In the case of adding some more gorgeous colors to my nail collection - This case is SOLVED!

My Valentine's Day Gift featuring POMP!

Well we all know that tomorrow is Valentine's Day and my present actually came today.  I thought I would write a quick post and show you all what I received.  I decided that I really "needed" another piece of jewelry from Pomp and what better time to get it, as a gift!  It is getting harder and harder to decide what piece I want next.  I wish I could just order all of them and be done with this obsession.  Ok, I will make this short and sweet.  I wanted to get this up that way if you are still in search of your perfect present, this might just be for you.

I received the POMP Starfish necklace in rose gold today.  I know I say this about every singe piece of POMP but there really is nothing else to say.  This piece is absolutely stunning.  I love the larger size of the starfish itself.  This is an amazing statement necklace.  I know that this is going to be my new signature piece!  Here is the information and photo of Sharon wearing it, taken from the website -

This is the piece that started it all! Our most popular item is now available in rose-toned gold. Hanging on an 18" chain with a lobster claw clasp. 14kt plated rose colored gold.

Here is my photo up close -

See once again, I told you STUNNING!  If you would like to order this gorgeous sea creature or another gorgeous piece you can go to http://shop.sharoncasejewelry.com/Starfish-Pendant-0013.htm to get yours!

In the case of POMPing it up one more time - This case is SOLVED!

My Beauty Interview with Sharon Case Part 1

If you follow my posts you know that the gorgeous and talented Sharon Case, Sharon Newman from The Young and The Restless, graciously offered to do a beauty interview with me. I of course jumped at the chance to find out Sharon's beauty products of choice.  Before I get on to the Q & A with the Y & R star, let me first tell you what a pleasure it has been getting to know Sharon.  It all started with a question to her about what lipstick she was wearing on the show.  Who would have ever thought it would end up with me asking her questions for my blog!  Sharon is as gorgeous inside as she is outside.  Her kindness to her fans really makes us feel so special.  Sharon shares her time with us on Twitter, joining in on discussions about her character Sharon and also the real life Sharon.  I find it truly amazing that she would actually take the time to get to know her fans and share parts of her life with us.  I also have to say that I have met some amazing people who are also fans of Sharon.  We are community of Sharon Case fans and I have gotten to know some of them personally.  Some of the girls have fan sites dedicated to just Sharon, others have sites dedicated to Y & R.  I will put a few of them below so you can check them out as well.  You can find out for yourself just why we are fans!

OK on to the interview, I am going to do half of the questions now, that are totally makeup related, and the other half in another post.

Here are the first 5 beauty questions that I asked Sharon.  The answers are exactly hers as they were written back to me through email!  The questions and answers have not been altered in any way!

1.  If you were to empty out your makeup bag right now, what products would we see?

Id see a mess! I've been meaning to clean out my makeup drawer for a long time. I have more lip glosses and mascaras than anything else, that's what I wear most days when I'm not at work. I don't buy a lot of big name brands, I have more drug store makeup like Cover Girl and Loreal though I've been using Bobbie Brown cream eyeliner for years. We use it everyday on the show too.

2.  What is one makeup product that you could not live without?

Honestly, its my PrettyGirlMakeup.com lip gloss. I just cannot live without a great lip gloss. Its the one thing I wear everyday and I apply all day long. The second thing would be mascara, Clinique, because it really does stay on all day but then washes off easily without too much scrubbing.

3.  What is your skincare routine?  What products do you use?
I do a home facial once a week which involves exfoliation, a mud mask and a moisture mask. Occasionally ill go to a salon for a deeper facial or microdermabrasion. Though I'm not necessarily into big name brands, I have nothing against them when they really work....lately I have been using Estee Lauder day and night cremes. I used to use a no-name moisturizer id buy at a local small salon called Accent On Skin. In fact, I used that product my entire life and I still like it today but these days i need a heavier product.

4.  When we spoke on Twitter, you mentioned that you love Pretty Girl Makeup.  What are your favorite products from Pretty Girl?
I like the entire makeup line at Pretty Girl. You'll find she has all the latest and greatest colors and the quality is amazing. I mostly wear the lip colors like "Soul Mates" and "Your A Doll" for everyday wear but I love the bolder colors too, it just depends on how I'm dressed that day.

5.  What is your everyday, not on set, makeup routine?
Off screen I have a beauty regimen more so than a makeup routine. My dermatologist told me to exfoliate at least 2 times a week and use a heavy moisturizer at least twice a day. The trick is to spend 5 minutes lightly massaging the moisturizer into your skin. The result is better hydration and circulation. I've notice a difference, my face looks fresher all day.

Well my friends, those are the first 5 questions that I asked Sharon.  If you follow my posts, or follow Sharon on Twitter, I am sure you already know about Pretty Girl Makeup!  I am thinking if you are a CRAZY fan like me, you already own both of the colors that Sharon mentioned!  With Sharon's permission, here is a photo taken from her Twitter photos.  This photo shows her holding up one of her favorite gloss in "Your A Doll!"
If you have any questions, please feel free to comment below.  I will be posting part 2 of my interview very soon.  I also have a Pretty Girl makeup Haul Review coming up in the next few days.  I went a little nuts and bought a ton of products from Pretty Girl.  I mean come on now, if they are one of Sharon's favorite, I had to give them a try!  I wanted to wear them for a while so I could give you my review.

Here are the Y&R and Sharon Case fan sites that I told you about earlier in this post - Bonnie (@SharonCaseFans on Twitter) has a website dedicated to the gorg and talented Sharon -   http://sharoncasefans.com/ .   Bonnie is in the process of interviewing Sharon for her website!  Be sure to check that out.  I am sure Bonnie asked Sharon some great questions!  The next is Lynn (@ColonnadeLynn on Twitter)  Lynn's website is all about Y&R http://thecolonnaderoom.smfforfree3.com/index.php This is a wonderful and small group of ladies who chat about the show!  Lynn and I have a competition on who can own more of Sharon's POMP Jewelry!  I think Lynn is definitely winning!  These are just two of the wonderful ladies that I have gotten to know on Twitter!  There are so many more - Follow us and see!

Pretty Girl Makeup ... Yummy Mummy Review

If you follow my posts or follow me on Twitter, you know that I recently found a new cosmetic company called Pretty Girl Makeup.  I ordered on the recommendation of the gorgeous Sharon Case.  Do I really need to explain who Sharon is?  I think not, if you don't know who, you must not be following my blog posts  religiously like you should!  : ) Sharon told me on Twitter that some of her favorite products are from Pretty Girl.  I immediately placed my order and it really was love at first swipe.  First swipe of the lipstick and lipgloss that is!  I will have a complete makeup review coming within the next few days.  This review is actually about a body product called Yummy Mummy!

Before I go on any further let me tell you a little bit about the creator of Pretty Girl.  Christina Flach, a pretty girl herself, is the CEO and also a FORD Makeup Artist.  She and I have become pen pals ever since my very first order of Pretty Girl! My first email to the gorgeous Christina was to add something else to my order.  The next email was a color recommendation.  The next .. well the rest is history because we chat quite a bit these days about her fabulous products!  I first fell in love with Pretty Girl because of the top notch quality of the products.  The classy, fun, and unique packaging was also a huge factor!  Having Christina be so helpful, down to earth, and real, makes it that much better!  Christina has taken her life experiences and expertise as a FORD Makeup Artist to create this expressive line.  This line maintains the highest level of quality.  I have always felt that when a top Makeup Artist creates his or her own line of cosmetics and skincare, it must be a quality product.  Just think they are actually using it on their clients and putting their name on the line, in more ways than one.  Christina uses her makeup on the many celebrities that she works with.  I know as a Makeup Artist myself, I only use the highest quality products on my clients.  I would not settle for anything less. Today I just talked to my friend Stacy about using Pretty Girl for her wedding makeup in September! I told her that we will definitely be using the lip products because they are so gorg and stay on FOREVER!

Ok now on to the review - YUMMY MUMMY!  What is it you ask?  Good question, here is the information taken from Pretty Girl website -

Yummy Mummy Vanilla Sugar Aloe Vera Body Cream is loaded with soothing Aloe Vera and Shea butter to give your skin the nourishment it needs to stay extra pretty! Ideal for pretty mummies on the go to help with stretch marks, tired swollen feet and dry skin.

I have to say when I first opened the jar the smell was absolutely amazing!  It smelled like warm vanilla, not that sicky sweet vanilla, that yummy warm vanilla that makes everyone happy when they smell it. The texture of this cream is semi thick and not greasy at all.  I put it on my hands and arms and it soaked right in to my skin.  My skin felt so smooth and soft immediately after I put it on.  Another plus is you only need to use a little of this rich cream to keep your skin hydrated.  I have been using it everyday since I received it and I must say, I am totally in love!  My skin is super duper dry from this Upstate NY weather, and Yummy Mummy does the trick.  It has become my nighttime ritual to apply this right before I go to bed.  The smell is heavenly and helps me have sweet dreams!  Don't worry, you don't have to be a mummy to use this, this is good for everyone!  Christina also suggests using this in the summer after you come in out of the sun.  I can just imagine myself on a warm sunny day getting out of my pool, slathering some Yummy Mummy on and smelling that yummy vanilla scent.  OK so that is NOT going to happen for a few more months...a girl can dream can't she?

Just to let you know, this product comes in a huge 8oz tub and it sells for $20.00 at www.prettygirlmakeup.com  If you use the code "PRETTY" in the checkout you will receive 25% off of your order.  This means that the price for this fab cream will only be $15.00! Here is Yummy Mummy below -
Yummy Mummy Vanilla Sugar Scented Shea Butter Cream
If you have a Twitter account you can follow the gorgeous and talented Christina at @Prettygirlmkup ... Christina also has a facebook account.  If you search for Pretty Girl Makeup, you will find her!  This is where you can find out about new products and specials.  She also likes to post her Pretty Girl lipstick of the day! Ok  so I totally do that as well on Twitter!  Sometimes I am even wearing the same color as Sharon!  If you have any questions about Pretty Girl please don't hesitate to ask.  As I said, my makeup review will be coming up soon.  I bought a ton of amazing products that I cannot wait to share with all of you.

If you purchased any Pretty Girl, please comment below and let me know what you received and how much you love it!

My POMP by Sharon Case Order Arrived!

The first word that comes to my mind when I think of someone wearing a piece of POMP jewelry by Sharon Case is - WARNING!  This jewelry should come with a huge warning attached.  Here is what it should read:

Dear Pomp customer,
If you are someone who does not like to receive any attention, please DO NOT, I repeat please DO NOT purchase any piece of Pomp jewelry! If you do purchase and decide to wear it, you will receive nothing BUT attention and compliments from EVERYONE!
Sincerely,
Pomp Customer Service

I have to say I have seen a lot of jewelry in my time and this jewelry is exquisite!  The first piece that I ordered was the Pave Coin Necklace.  When this piece arrived I could not put it around my neck fast enough. It was even more gorgeous in person than it was on the website.  I wore it to work and everyone commented on it.  They thought that I had gone out and spent a fortune on myself!  The crystals are so sparkly.  I absolutely love it.  I loved it when Sharon wore it on the show, and I love it even more now that I have my very own.

Today, I received my Crystal Cluster Earrings in silver.  I remember writing Sharon on Twitter about earrings that she had on when she was at the jail visiting Victor.  I was so mesmerized by the jewels in her ears, I didn't even pay attention to what she and Victor were saying.  I told her how much I loved her earrings and she told me that they were from her line.  Right there is when my obsession began with checking the Pomp website daily, like it was my job, to see if I could order.  As soon as I opened these earrings I was in shock at how absolutely gorgeous they are!  One thing that I love about the earrings is that they are not heavy.  They are the perfect weight and size.  I actually just wore these beauties to the grocery store.  I happened to see one of my friends and she commented on how gorg these earrings were.  OK YES, I did wear them to the grocery store! With that said, I will now insert one of my favorite quotes - "Everyday is a fashion show, and the world is your runway." now those my friends are words to live by!

OK here is a photo that I took of these gorgeous creatures! -

Tell me these two pieces are not daytime drama worthy!  A lot of celebs come out with lines but never have I been so obsessed with jewelry like I am with Sharon's.  I have had the pleasure of talking to Sharon via Twitter and I have to say that she is as gorgeous inside as she is on the out!  She is one celeb who truly cares about her fans and makes them feel special!

Alright I really have to run ... tooooooo http://sharoncasejewelry.com/ to see what is next on my list.  Oh wait a minute...Valentine's Day is February 14th and I am sure my wonderful husband has not picked out my gift yet.  I am thinking a Starfish Necklace in rose gold would definitely do the trick! One Starfish necklace gift coming right up!

In the case of looking like a Daytime Emmy winner every single day - This case is SOLVED!!
